اعْبُدُوا اللَّهَ مَا لَكُم مِّنْ إِلَٰهٍ غَيْرُهُ

Nuh (AS) wanted his people to understand that only Allah should be worshipped.
He gave them sincere advice and warned them about rejecting the truth.

People who saw him building the ark did not understand why he was doing it.

يَا بُنَيَّ ارْكَب مَّعَنَا
“O my son! Come aboard with us.”

But his son refused.
He thought he could protect himself by going to a mountain.
Nuh (AS) explained that there was no protection from Allah’s command except through Allah’s mercy.
Then a great wave came between them.
Nuh’s son was drowned.

The Flood Comes to an End
After the flood had lasted as Allah willed, Allah commanded the earth to take back its water and the sky to stop the rain.
The water began to go down.
The ark finally came to rest on Mount Judi.
The Quran says:
وَاسْتَوَتْ عَلَى الْجُودِيِّ
“And the Ark rested on Mount Judi.”

The great flood had ended.
